Staff moving north to the BBC's flagship MediaCity development in Salford Quays are being offered a choice of
three models of swivel chair. Officials then teach employees how to sit down to ensure they are following health
and safety proceedures.
Dan Walker, presenter of BBC One's Football Focus, is among those who have undergone the training. He wrote on
Twitter: "Just had a chat with a chair champion. I have to select my favourite model... all of them swivel."

I'm with the BBC on this one.
Staff off for weeks or longer with back problems are a drain on any organisation's resources. Compensation for long term cases
can be eye-watering unless the employer can show good duty of care.
Pennies spent now could/will save pounds later.
Morven Says:
Bad posture is a big problem for large organisations public or private and if the Tories really cared about actual people not just
lining their pockets and bankrupting our country then they would understand that.
The funny thing is, I bet most of the people on here who are slating this will be the ones shouting "why didn't my employer have
someone to advise me on posture" when they are busy engaging in legal action due to back problems...
Adam Says:
Sitting for long periods incorrectly, has been show to cause long term dis-alignment of the spine. Many journalists in their late 50's
and 60's have difficultly getting out their beds in the morning.
Sitting for long periods also raises your blood sugar which cause diabetes. To nullify this risk.make sure you have 2-3 walks a day
or other exercise( 1 is not enough you are still at risk). We have not been evolved to sit for long periods .
